Possibly one of the most jaw-dropping drives one can take, the Amalfi Coast is nothing short of breathtaking. Narrow roads hug the rugged winding coastline above the Mediterranean Sea not too disimilar from a drive through Big Sur, California. Even though the clouds were ominous and roads were wet from the pouring rain, there was a certain mystique driving in the misty weather. Breaking for lunch in Amalfi, we ate at the docks sheltered under dark clouds. By the time we finished, mother nature pulled a 180. The rain had stopped, the clouds thinned and the sun shone. We continued our drive through the bouquet of colorful houses that lined the cliffs in every town en route to the freeway north to Rome.
